Anti-Hazing & Non-Discrimination
Our standards for a safe and welcoming brotherhood. Last updated August 22, 2026.
Zero tolerance for hazing
The Fukujin Chapter - UNCC of Lambda Sigma Upsilon Latino Fraternity, Inc. strictly prohibits hazing in any form. Membership, intake, and participation are never conditioned on, and will never involve, hazing. We uphold this standard in line with the policies of our national organization, the policies of University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and the anti-hazing laws of the State of North Carolina.
What hazing means
Hazing includes any act — physical, mental, emotional, or online — expected of someone joining or participating in a group that humiliates, degrades, endangers, or risks harm, regardless of that person's willingness to participate. Consent is not a defense to hazing.
Report a concern
If you have experienced or witnessed hazing, or have any safety or conduct concern, please tell someone. You can report it confidentially — and anonymously if you prefer — through our confidential concern form. Serious or emergency situations should also be reported to University of North Carolina at Charlotte officials and local authorities. Reports made in good faith will not result in retaliation.
Non-discrimination
Lambda Sigma Upsilon Latino Fraternity, Inc. was founded to unite people across cultures — Latinos Siempre Unidos. Membership is open to students who share our values and meet our standards, without regard to race, color, national origin, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or veteran status. We celebrate Latino culture while welcoming brothers of all backgrounds.

This page summarizes our commitments for the public. It does not replace the official anti-hazing, non-discrimination, and risk-management policies of Lambda Sigma Upsilon Latino Fraternity, Inc. or University of North Carolina at Charlotte, which govern in the event of any conflict. The chapter should confirm this language with its national organization and campus advisor.
