How the Fukujin Chapter - UNCC collects, uses, and protects information submitted through this site. Last updated August 18, 2026.
Who we are
This site is the internal management system of the Fukujin Chapter - UNCC of Lambda Sigma Upsilon Latino Fraternity, Inc. at University of North Carolina at Charlotte. It is operated by the chapter's student leadership, not by the university.
Information we collect
We only collect what you choose to give us:
- Interest form: your name, email, and optionally phone, preferred contact method, academic year, major, interests, and how you heard about us.
- Request form: your name and the details of your request (and optionally your email).
- Confidential concern form: the concern you describe and its category. You choose whether to include your name and contact details or to submit anonymously.
- Members & officers: chapter leadership maintains internal records (roster, roles, attendance, dues, service hours, and similar operational data) to run the chapter.
What we do not collect
This system is designed to never store Social Security numbers, full bank-account or payment-card numbers, passwords in readable form, or unnecessary medical or protected health information. It does not process payments.
How we use your information
We use it only to operate the chapter — to follow up with interested students, review and route requests, address concerns, and keep accurate records of membership, events, service, and finances. We do not sell your information or share it for advertising.
Consent
When you submit the interest form you confirm consent to be contacted by the chapter about membership. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time.
Confidential concerns and anonymity
If you choose to submit a concern anonymously, we do not store your name or contact details with the report. We take confidentiality seriously, but we cannot guarantee complete technical anonymity. This form is not monitored around the clock and is not a substitute for emergency services — in an emergency call 911, or UNC Charlotte Police at 704-687-2200.
How your information is stored and secured
Data is stored in a private database and is accessible only to authenticated chapter administrators. Connections are encrypted over HTTPS, administrator passwords are stored only as salted hashes, sign-in sessions use secure httpOnly cookies, and uploaded files are kept in private storage. Public forms are rate-limited to deter abuse.
Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies: a secure session cookie to keep administrators signed in and a token used to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies, so no cookie-consent banner is required.
Your choices
You may ask the chapter to access, correct, or delete the information you submitted, or to stop contacting you. Anonymous concern submissions cannot be traced back to you, so we may be unable to locate or remove them on request.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the chapter's practices change; the date above reflects the latest version.
